Christmas Dinner

Christmas dinner was a wonderful success this year. It was a much smaller affair than had taken place in the past, but much better timed and much more relaxed. Bill and I are getting better at coordinating functions here.

As for the food, Bill did a marvelous job with the ham, it was juicy, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Everyone commented on how delicious it was. He also made his famous cheesey potatoes which I didn't realize he called Tante Potatoes, but Tante Angelica helped him perfect his recipe for it. I have to say, he does a great job of putting together a holiday meal. In addition, we had rolls, my youger sister brought a yummy salad with a cilantro dressing, and my older sister brought mulled wine. My parents came as well (they're usually not here this time of year) and they brought some really delicious green beans. The night was topped off with homemade pumpkin pie.

I beleive we all had a really great time. Can't wait for next year.

Santa Claus has come to town

Something I haven't had in a long time - cheese stuffed shells. Very good, and the sourdough bread was perfect for wiping up the sauce. Dessert was chocolate milk with Ho Ho's. Good dinner, just too tired to write. One of the best things was my treat which I totally wasn't expecting tonight since I got a treat last night. Todays were Santa Claus socks - yes folks, he has arrived in P.A.

One drink is enough

Tonight I had a delicious salami and mozzarella sandwich (though not as delicious as the one hubby makes), peaches, a beautiful salad with olives, crumbled cheese, and bacon bits, cookies, and milk. I left the house tonight with a verbal note from my hubby that I only had one drink in my dinner tonight. As it turned out, one drink was all I needed.

I LOVE my special treat that was in my lunch tonight - a new pair of Christmas socks with doggies on them. Now when I say my dogs are barking, I can mean it. ;)

Lastly, though not related to food, I have to thank my hubby for waking me up on time and prodding me to get into the shower so I wouldn't be late for work. Thanks so much for taking care of me, and thanks also for another great dinner.

Bacon, bacon, bacon

Mmmmmmm, bacon. I had a BLT in my lunch tonight, very good. I haven't had one in quite some time, and this one was made with premium bacon cooked to perfection. Delicious. I also had bing cherries. Yes, I said bing cherries. I don't know where they were grown, but they had them at our local market and they were delicious as well. I had yogurt, but had to toss it because the seal was broken on it - don't know if it came from the store that way or if it happened in my lunchbox. Lastly I had both regular and chocolate milk. Mmmmm, Mmmmm good.

One final request - I need more ice in my lunchbox. The milks aren't quite staying cold till 3:00 A.M. (when I typically get to eat nowadays.)

Thanks for the delicious dinner - see you in a couple of hours.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears, oh my!

While dinner was not made of lions and tigers and bears, it was just as exciting. I had a nicely marbled and yummy steak (except it was a tad bit big), a super scrumptious spinach and goat cheese salad, and as an interesting twist I got chocolate cake. May not sound interesting to you, but I've never had cake in my lunchbox before. Thanks for the yummy dinner.

Creative, yes.

Roastbeef sandwich for dinner tonight. The roastbeef was excellent. The creativity for putting sundried tomato tamponade on it gets an A+. The resulting flavor combination however, ranks a C. The tomato was just a little too overpowering and sweet for the roast beef. Also had fruit cocktail - yum, dark chocolate covered pretzels - double yum, and sugar snap peas - delicious. Beverages were regular and chocolate milks, good combo. Thanks for the creative effort, and for keeping me fed at night.

Oh yeah, kudos for having a hot dinner ready for me when I wake up. Tonights turkey loaf was a delicious treat, and I loved the grilled bacon potatoes. I'm not sure who enjoyed the edamame more, me or the girls.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
